On Wednesday April 6, 2022, The Factory held a Town Hall meeting to discuss our transition to our new space, updates to amenities, and a few other tidbits. We’ve also included slides from the meeting for our visual readers!
We start our meeting by acknowledging the efforts from Alberto, Jeff, and Frederick whom spent the long weekend of March 25 – 27, 2022 to move items from our old location at 38 Fulton W to our new home at 77 Monroe Center Street NW Suite 600. Without their hard work and late nights, we would not have made our open date of March 28 at 8am to welcome our community. Lots of moving and configuring of desks, tables, and expectations to make sure there were no interruptions come Monday morning. Thank you very much!
Internet & Furniture
We will have new furniture arriving at the space on April 28 (more to come on this) which will include new hot desks, kitchen table, conference & small call room tables, and a new high-top table for our members that like to work standing up. The fiber-based internet service will be installed in the next couple of months which will increase our data bandwidths significantly.
Please use our internal communication and reservation channels & devices to chat and book a conference room, return dishes and utensils to the kitchen so they can be cared for and available for others, and washroom/bathrooms currently do not have self-closing mechanisms – so please close door after use.
We have launched our Expert Series speakers scheduled through the end of June 2022 and will announce more soon. Our first Coffee Tasting with Sparrows at The Factory in May 2022. The Factory will host CreativeMornings in our space in July 2022, which will be a first hosting of a larger community event in more than two years! Our Community Cultivator will be assisting MeetUps in returning to The Factory. We also spoke about the return of the Annual Pub Crawl.
As of April 2022, Offices and Residents Desks are sold out!
Website will be updated with new images, videos, and content regarding our new space and availability.
We have blank space on our walls; and we want the community’s input. What should we do? Our conference rooms will have new nicknames: Heritage Hill, Eastown, and Cherry Hill. We have also formally announced a Community Manager search to our members.
Added some kitchen amenities such as an espresso machine, toaster oven, coat racks, a place for bike storage, and shower room bench.
Good, Bad, Miss, Improvements
In short, the community feels appreciated and the space feels more optimized for working and meetings. Amenities in the space are valued and the lobby looks great.
